Gabriel Figueroa nacio en México, DF. el 24 de abril de 1907 y fallecio el 27 de abril de 1997,
su ingreso al cine se produjo en 1932,como fotografo de tomas fijas de Revolución de Miguel Contreras Torres. Un año mas tarde seria uno de los veinte camarografos contratados para la fimacion de Viva Villa! de Howard Hawks. Tras algunos trabajos como iluminador, Figueroa recibió una beca para estudiar en los Estados Unidos. Allí entró en contacto con Gregg Toland, uno de los mejores fotógrafos de cine de todos los tiempos, quien le enseñó su particular estilo de iluminación.

Pueblo, canto y esperanza (1954), Dos tipos de cuidado (1952), Siempre tuya (1950), Victimas del pecado (1950), Los Olvidados (1950), Salon México (1948), Las abandonadas (1944), Flor silvestre (1943), Allá en el Rancho Grande (1936).
